Steele’s Floppy Manhood – Updated

4 Mar

Michael Steele made my day when he spoke out against Rush Limbaugh saying, “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh — his whole thing is entertainment. He has this incendiary — yes, it’s ugly.” That is bold, aggressive, and just the thing that centrists need to hear.  Now, however, it has turned in to an embarrassing, sad fiasco for all of the parties involved.

The Petworth’s own RNC Chairman actually brought me to a nod of approval, but then came the apology.  All of his cred as being a shaker for the RNC went out with Monday’s trash.  I’m confident that all of Rush’s listeners already hate him, and no one with a solid head on their shoulders cares what Limbaugh has to say.

The Republican party has already split, now I just wish someone would go ahead divide the elephant in two.  If your average Wall Street Republican can’t stand up to those Limbaughists, the party will continue to fail.  What does it say about the right when they have to have the stamp of approval from a racist, male shovanist, hypocritical, non-apologetic, drug addicted entertainer?  Instead they need to unite around progressive conservatives (if that isn’t too big of an oxymoron).  The Palins or Limbaughs may fire up the neoconservatives, but fortunately it take way more than that to elect a Republican.

Republicans keep talking the talk about uniting the party, but are not willing to stand up to the “Godfather”?  Come on Steele, be your own man.

**Update**

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has just launched an ‘apology’ website.  It is pretty cleaver.  Worth checking out.

I am a long time reader of the Hay Say and I must say that I am deeply offended by the title of this post. As a result, I will no longer be visiting the hay say.

    Sincerely,

    Concerned Reader
